AWANA CLUBS

Awana Club Rules & Policies

Check-in / Drop-Off

Our clubber’s safety is very important to us. Every Awana Clubber MUST be checked in each week by an adult at the check-in stations. Check-in begins at 6:15pm each Wednesday night on the 4th floor check-in counters (**3rd floor for Cubbies). Please DO NOT drop off your clubber before 6:15pm.

You will receive 3 stickers once you are checked-in, 2 name stickers and 1 claim sticker.

  • Name Sticker #1 - is placed on the child's shirt, either in the front or back.
  • Name Sticker #2 - Is placed on the club clipboards in the drop-off rooms.

  • Claim Sticker - is kept by the parent or adult that will be picking up the child at the end of club. The adult pick up the child MUST have the claim sticker or a picture of the claim sticker to pick up the child. If a claim sticker is not presented, the club director will need to verify identifaction for the person picking up the child.

Please make sure your clubber uses the restroom before you drop them off. Once the clubber arrives in their room, they are to remain in the designated area, unless given permission to leave by the Awana Director/Leader.

American Flag Pledge: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

Awana Flag Pledge: I pledge allegiance to the Awana flag, which stands for the AWANA club. Whose goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.

Bible Pledge: I pledge allegiance to the bible, God’s holy word. I will make it a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I will hide God’s word in my heart that I might not sin against Him.

Large Group Time / Counsel Time : (1st Rotation)

Counsel time is our opportunity in a large group to help kids worship the Lord with enthusiasm, engage and interact with each other through teaching of God’s word and creative and unique lessons designed to go hand in hand with what the clubbers are studying in their weekly handbook sections. The lessons will help reinforce and add to the clubbers knowledge and application of important Bible truths.

Small Group / Handbook Time : (2nd Rotation)

The small group time is a time to build relationships with the clubbers in our groups utilizing the focused time we have with them. During Handbook Time clubbers have the opportunity to recite sections and receive credit for their efforts. This is also the best opportunity for leaders to pray with and develop relationships with their clubbers.

Game Time / Game Square : (3rd Rotation)

Game time draws clubbers to Awana because the clubbers want to have fun. Fast-paced, exciting and fun are three ways to describe Game Square.

If physically able, everyone should participate. If a child does not want to play, they still need to stand in line with and cheer on their team.

Closing Ceremony and Checkout

AWANA Clubs end every Wednesday night at 8PM. Clubbers will be dismissed from their club rooms. The person picking up the clubber MUST have the matching check-in number sticker. (A picture of the sticker with the matching claim number is fine.)

**If the person picking up the child does not have a matching sticker, we must have another leader or director verify the pick-up person before releasing the clubber.

DRESS CODE

All clubbers should wear comfortable clothing, long pants or shorts and tennis shoes in order to participate in the activities held on a typical evening. Some activities may be difficult to participate in while wearing the wrong type of clothing, flip-flops, sandals, etc. Hat’s worn to club should always be removed indoors.

CELL PHONE / TOYS

All toys, trading cards, video electronics and/or anything that could become a distraction during club, should be left at home. Items brought to club will be taken away from the clubber and returned at the end of the night to their parents.

Cell phones are not to be used in club, except for emergencies. This includes using your phone for the Bible app. Clubbers should bring their bible each week and phones should be kept on silent and in their pockets or bags.

WELLNESS POLICY

Cartoon little girl feeling unwell and coughing

As we all know, sickness can keep going around with children, affecting not only the other children in your child’s Awana club, but your family and other families as the illness goes “back and forth” between the children.

Children SHOULD NOT attend Awana if they have any of the following symptoms:

● Fever – 100 degrees or higher within the last 24-hours

● Vomiting within the last 24 hours

● Diarrhea within the last 24 hours

● Runny nose if accompanied by other symptoms and/or colored discharge

● Bad cough – coughing increases the chance of infection being spread to others

● Any rash that is suspected to be contagious
